Dropping a very special Sketch-a-wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August!
The winning request was to illustrate an off-page scene from The Folk of the Air series, when Cardan was writing his letters to Jude.
I countered that Cardan went through the five stages of grief writing those letters, and each deserved it’s own illustration. (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance) You’ll also notice some familiar outfits throughout!

Nicholas/Henry feeding Taylor/Alex cake with a straight face was too good. I can’t. God, why was he keeping a straight face?? He was so in love.
They are just so cute together. Some of the clips aren’t even blooper, just cut scenes in my opinion. Like this one. So casual and relaxed and just Alex and Henry basically.
Taylor biting his finger was adorable. But also, he shifted back to the grimmer emotion the instant he turned his face. Actors are incredible.
And where is this scene?? I want to see this!! Love this angle. Love the way Alex holds Henry’s neck. Also Henry’s “Go Back to America” is hilarious www

Nesta and Cassian didn’t have the best family relationships with their maternal or paternal figures and this created deep marks on both of them, even influencing the notion they have about deserving or being worthy of the love of those around them.
Even if not in the immediate future, we have evidence they want to have children and we believe as soon as they learn about the existence of the first little bat, they will realize that loving their own children is not conditional or difficult.
For the first day of Nessian Week, @podemechamardek and I commissioned this fanart of Nessian with the little bat, because we have a soft spot for Nessian as parents. Michelle did an amazing job.

This was such an odd perspective angle to tackle, I was chastising Past-Rosie for considering this a good idea throughout the entire process. But we got to the end!
